Appearance
She has a brown muddy colored coat, her fur is darker on her back and lightens to her hooves, she has white socks. Her hooves are a black color, one of her hooves has a white mark shaped like a crescent moon. She has a scar from where an elder mare kicked her for biting when she was younger. Also Rio has white tips to her mane and tale, she also has a scar on her face from when she was kicked by another horse in play when they were colts.

Personality
She has a sensitivity to things she finds beautiful she is very steady in finding beauty where ever she goes. However along with this she has a hard time making relationships with anyone, she seems cold to most until you get to know her. When she is with people she loves and trusts is very open and often plays things up to get attention and be the center of attention to anyone and everyone around her. She is a patient horse she will wait for a very long time before giving up on anything she tends to be stubborn though it only adds to her stubbornness. She very loyal to her herd leader though she wishes to lead she can hope and wait, her loyalty also goes to who ever can break through her cold heartedness. She has many opinions and is often seen arguing when something is wrong to her belief she often had troubles growing up because of this, she was often the cause of many peoples frustrations. She is also very squeamish she can not stand the sight of lots of blood, she once fainted because she saw a horse killed by felines. She also has a tendancy to act on her first thought, her impulsiveness once caused her to get in trouble because she wandered away from the herd to see what was making noise.

Background
Her herd was large it had almost two hundred horses in it led by a single stallion, who was her father. Her mother was only 12 hands high whereas her father was 16.6 hands high he was the tallest horse she had ever seen in her life. Her older sister was almost black in color and because of this was often asked if she wasn’t sure she was actually some other breed. Her herd was also mostly an extended family and few unrelated other mares, though they often have many colts running around. Her place of birth was a wide open field, though she only vaguely remembers it. She was born to a pair of Quarter Horses, her mother was kind and gentle to her when she turned three she was cast from her home herd. She then wandered for a time hoping to find a better place for her.
She has yet to start a family all her own, she plans on it soon once she finds the right stallion for now though she is content with the place she has. She has a view that violence is normal and everything dies eventually, because of this violence merely helps that along. She is fine with it as long as there isn’t a whole lot of blood, she fell in blood when she was young, since then she has been afraid of it.
She has no desires to lead at this time, though when she was younger she wanted to be a lead mare. She grew out of this and is now content to hold any place in a herd, she often wants to merely watch the herds young ones because she hasn’t had one of her own. Her life now is working on finding a herd to belong to it may take her some time to do so but she will.
